She's a climber!

I can't keep my eyes off my little angel!  Violet is a climber!  This morning I was helping with clean up and look over to see her actually standing in the chair!!
A BIG SAFETY VIOLATION!!
No matter how many times I would take her down she was determined to get in the chair.
I was able to capture a few pictures before I had to put the chair up all together
and as you can see she isn't happy!

40th Anniversary!

We went to the North Ga Mountains to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary...we gave them options of a trip or a party and they wanted a trip with all of us!  It is always so special to be with them.  I learned 10 years ago to never waste a minute I have with them!  And now with the girls growing our time together is more precious.

My parents were sweethearts through high school and then married when my mom was 19 and my dad 20.  They moved to Auburn and he finished school.  I love to hear about their relationship and silly stories still!

They have taught me so much as a person and I cherish my friendship with them more than they will ever know.  They have given me so much in life and were the ones to share God's love with me at an early age.  I give them the credit for the person I am today and the foundation of my relationship with God.  I see how God has used them to share with others and how they always have faith whenever there are trials in life.  God always shines and his love is always with them.

My dad joked when Jason and I got married that finally after 30 yrs he had his first son.  And looking at pictures, they now have 3 grand daughters and a new son in law on the way in June.  I guess we picked up the pace a little....

My parents treated the girls to a trip to Babyland General and a new baby.  It was fun for the girls and I know my parents enjoyed it even more.   My mom taught Grace to crochet.  My dad played cards with the girls...we have to watch him though he was teaching them rummy when we thought they were playing 'go fish'.  We made s'mores outside.  And thanks to Jason we had wonderful meals.  The weather was beautiful and we were glad we brought Nesta to join...He was on his best behavior, believe it or not!

I know I have lots of pictures posted but it's hard for me to limit!  I joked with Jason about us making it that far and he said "we've only got 30 more to go!"

Thank you mom and dad for all you have taught me about being a woman, mother and child of God!  Also, thank you for being wonderful parents and grandparents!  It was a joy to celebrate your 40th anniversary~love you!

SNOW day!!!

Last night the rumor was snow  on the way and growing up in the south I know that may or may not happen.  We talked a little about it with Lu but she had now clue.  Well, we woke up to a beautiful snow this morning... 2 inches around our home and that's being generous.  Still it looked so pretty and Lu had a ball!  Lu and I went out while Viley was sleeping.  Lu's first comment when she saw the snow was "look at the snow mamma, Merry Christmas".  She couldn't find her snow boots(mainly, because she doesn't have a pair!) and she was ready to get her snow coat on!  Just before we went out she said "mamma I'm goin' throw a snow ball in your face!"  Once we got out she tried to carry out her threat but fell short for me but she got Nesta!  She enjoyed tasting it and said it was icy!   It's time like this I love being home with my girls!  Enjoy our "snow"...

Violet turns 11 mos!

Well, we are now closer to a year than I would like but my Smiley Viley is 11 mos old today.  I can tell a big difference in her personality and changes.  I forget how fast this all happens!  Honestly, I think she is the fastest crawler I have ever seen.  Violet has two bottom teeth and a few more close to breaking through.  Her new accomplishments to date...holding on and trying to walk, saying mama and squealing, clapping, standing, loving on her baby, dancing, trying to talk on the phone, trying to take pictures and showing some anger...haha!  She loves trying to get the potty and with big sis going on her own little sis is always close by.  She is into everything!!  But it is so fun to watch her.
Violet loves to go to dancing school with Lu...it is funny to watch her dance.
Of course, I think she is perfect, like all moms.   She is an angel and mine!

Wilders visit...

We celebrated Christmas with Jason's parents this past weekend.  The girls were overwhelmed with gifts.  Lu got a jeep with a radio.  It is going to get Jason and I in shape since she lacks the ability of steering!  She spends a lot of time playing with radio...I guess this will be something to look forward to with learning to drive a car!  She was excited and ran to get one of her babies.  She buckled up and said I'm a real mommy now.  Violet was completely confused...  She'll catch on.  Jason and I got a Wii so we will be enjoying ourselves too!

Bath time

Bath time is always a fun time, especially for Violet!  Last night I had the great idea of putting the girls together(don't know why I never had that thought before).  Well, it was a hit for both girls!  Lu enjoyed bathing her sister and Violet enjoyed her first bubble bath.  It made bath time so much easier for me.  I'm glad I use my brain sometimes!

Weekend fun...

With the holidays now behind us...we treated ourselves to dinner on Friday with the girls.  It is always fun to take them out and work on our good manners.  Lu is probably the only 3 yr old that knows that there are actually different types of pastas.  I know it must make her Pops side proud! And Friday she wanted spaghetti and meatballs.  Poor Violet is forced to eat off my plate but she didn't seem to mind and since there was bread she was happy as well.  To fill you in, Lu is fascinated by older adults(gray/white hair women especially)and calls most of them Grandma. While eating dinner she noticed an older couple and they noticed her.  As most of you know, it is impossible at times to turn attention away.  We over heard their server wish them "happy anniversary" so we knew this was a special night for them and we tried hard to keep Lu's eyes off them.  But they weren't helpful and continued to smile and wave to our girls. So when we finished up dinner Jason grabbed Lu and I was getting Violet and the table together I made I eye contact with them.  They smiled and mentioned how much they enjoyed watching our family tonight.  The wife went on about Lu's hair and Violet's eyes and smile.  She said it was a joy to watch us and brought back memories of them with their children.  I explained that Lu was fascinated by older adults and wished them a happy anniversary.  The wife was all smiles and showed me a card her husband had given her....it said "happy 60th anniversary to my wonderful wife".  I was so touched that she would share such a special card with me, a stranger and what a compliment!   I can't imagine how fast 60 yrs must go by...10 yrs for us has been a blink at times.  I imagine they were able to think back on all the chaos that goes on getting a family ready and laugh.  I've been on Jason for a while about making Lemonade when things don't go as we would like.  It's the good things we will remember and the fun of the trip is what it's all about.  So to the couple at "Maggiano's" thank you for the lesson!

Saturday, we were able to have the Cook's over for pizza.  Their daughter and Lu are in dance class.  Mauren has filled some of the void from our Marietta friends.  She and Lu play great together and she is also crazy about Violet.  The big girls are sweet and let Violet has some fun too!

Sunday, Lu and I went to the mall to get my belated birthday coat.  Jason went a few weeks ago and was overwhelmed with styles, colors, etc and left it to me to pick out.   I realized how longs it's been a long time since I have been to the mall.  Lu enjoyed it.  It was a fun trip for us.  She enjoyed perfume on her wrist and a cookie for being so sweet and patient with me for hours of trying coats.

Also, I have a few pics of the girls...imagine that!  One has a great view of Vi's first little tooth complete with drool.   lots of love
