Petting zoo

Lu's school had a petting zoo visit today and parents were invited to come and enjoy.  It was fun and Violet was able to join us.  I always enjoy watching Lu with her friends when she doesn't know I am watching.  Here are a few pics of the morning with some of her friends and Violet.  When Violet and I got home she grabbed her blanket and fell asleep on the floor!  (guess it was too much for her!)

Spring is here!!!

As you can tell from the pictures these two are always close to each other.  Violet is usually following Lucinda around the house or yard and taking everything in.  I love seeing them playing and enjoying the other.

This past week was beautiful in Charlotte.   We pulled out the water table and made a wormarium-yes worms!  We have a great yard and I look forward to many days of enjoying our time outside with the girls!

FUN,FUN...

Jason has been away this weekend with the guys and we were able to enjoy a day to ourselves-
It has been crazy around here and with everyone feeling good and the weather just being beautiful we did nothing but stay outside!  The girls enjoyed playing in the sand, going to the park in the wagon(a first for Viley),watching the birds-Lu got on to me for "scaring" some away and Lu checking the worm population!  Jason may never leave again...as you can see Violet fell before he left and skinned her nose and then later bumped her head in her bed today!  I just love days like this and our yard is so great!  We have 6 HUGE trees and they keep our yard perfect even in summer!

During Spring break we made a short trip back to Marietta.  With Jason working down there it makes for a multipurpose trip!  While he is at work we are able to catch up with our friends.  The girls love seeing old friends!  My sweet friend Christy was sweet enough to have us over.  So here are a few pics of our visit as well as some with girls cousins.

Feeling better!

This week is finishing up so much better than it started!  Just wanted to post some pics of the girls with Violet feeling better!

Crazy Easter Weekend...

We had an interesting weekend in Charlotte to say the least...Our smiley Viley wasn't feeling too well.  And we ended up in the ER Easter Sunday!  (Thankfully, we are 15 mins to a Children's Hospital.)  Not the way we had hoped to spend our first Easter here!  Followed by two trips to the doctor.   Turns out her little tummy was constipated.  I have never seen so much pain in a little one.  Since Friday, every 1 1/2 to 2 hours she would scream in pain! (day and night) It broke my heart.
She was an angel even though she was not happy.

Jason and Lu stayed back and found eggs from the Bunny while Violet and I went to the ER!  It was a strange Easter!  I think this is the second Sunday in my life to miss Easter service!  I have no pictures of Easter dresses but a few of the girls with their baskets between screaming spells of Violet.  You can tell she isn't herself.   I am so proud of Jason for taking some pics of Lu enjoy her own Egg Hunt.

We did receive some good news on Nesta through all this...his blood work came back good.  The meds worked!  We go back in a few weeks to retest but the vet thinks he should be fine!

If by chance you have seen my facebook status you might have had an idea of the craziness, hope this helped explain!  I am happy to report after 4 sleepless nights we had a GREAT night last night and I believe little Violet is feeling much better!!!!

My Violets

I had to share my beautiful violets...we have to call them Lu and Violets.  Lucinda doesn't understand they are types of plants.  When I first told her they were violets she said
"and Lu's too"  Cute!

Well, my Mammy gave me a love for the plant while I was at Auburn.  She had a ton and every time I came to visit she usually had one for me.  I love them because they remind me of her.  I haven't lived anywhere since Auburn that I could have them.  (just didn't have the perfect window)  But as you can see I do now!  We used these for Violet's Baptism and they hadn't bloomed since last June and then around Christmas they went crazy!  I need to replant but wanted to show them off before they go in "shock".
I think Mammy would be proud of my Lu and Violets~

Cute idea...

Just had to share our bird baskets with you!  I got the idea off Land O Lakes recipes.  Lu loved making them.

good fun

Painting fun

We have had beautiful and rainy days up here in Charlotte like everyone in the southeast.  I have to admit there have been challenges spicing things up around the Wilder home!  Still I'd rather be home with my girls than anywhere else!   I can already see the friendship growing between the girls and enjoying each other.  Violet doesn't take her eyes off Lu and is taking in everything.  It is amazing how much faster she is taking things on than Lu did at the same age.

We have made the switch for Violet's seat and flipped her around.  Lu first words were"Bilet's chair is beautiful Momma.  She's going to be a big girl like me!"  Jason installed the seat within 15 minutes!  Yes, he has come far...we had to laugh because it took us an hour when Lu was a baby to just adjust the straps!  Life is new for us all with the change in the car and feel like Violet is enjoying rides with us all!

Nesta dog

This week we got some not so good news on our Nesta dog.  Jason had taken him to the vet on Saturday for his yearly shots.  Jason and the vet thought it would be a good idea to run some blood work since Nesta is 10 yrs old.  We had no reason to believe there were any problems at the time...so when I got the call on Tuesday with Nesta's liver counts 5 X's what they should be was a shock to us!  The doctor was too!  The doctor had told Jason on Sat that he thought Nesta to be in great shape in appearance alone and blood work was taken just based on his age.  We can't think of anything he might have gotten into and this might turn out to be more serious than we want to think about.   So now we are giving NeNe(as Lu calls him) some medicine that will hopefully help and heal his liver.  We take him back next week for blood work to see if the meds are working.  We just need some change!  So please pray for us as a family on what is coming our way!!!  Sounds silly, I know, but we just need to have an understanding with all this and what is human for Nesta.  I know pets aren't designed to live forever but a special gift of unconditional love!  Nesta is a special dog and you just can't help but love him!

Please know we don't think Nesta is any pain at this time and if you didn't read this you would never guess.  He still acts the same...our 10 yr old dog that thinks he is 6 months!
