Sunny Day!

Today was beautiful!!!  I think Lu, Nesta and myself spent most of the day outdoors and Violet joined us between beauty naps.  Big Red (our Cardinal friend) was with us most of the morning singing to us.  Lu and I thought we saw a Oriole but looking closer at the picture it most likely is an American Robin.  I love days like this!  Our girls love to be outdoors more than anything and we are so thankful for our great yard.  Lots of swinging and sand castles...

I am learning more about my smiley Viley...She is silly!   I noticed she was trying to reach down while in her chair...it was to get to the grass, her fingers were so dirty!  She also has funny "growl" sound that makes us laugh.

Looking at the pictures  Lu is really looking like a little girl!  She ask lots of questions and always on the move!  She really likes our next door neighbors dog, Grady and Mr. Mike...she has to speak to them every time they come outside.   Getting out of the bath tub with towel over her head, she said "I look like Jesus"... what a precious thing to think about.  She asked her daddy to dance and of course he did.

Relaxing weekend

Last week was cold and rainy up here so it was a nice change for a pretty weekend.  Lu enjoys reading to Rasta and he is sweet to listen. She loves him so much!  Saturday we made our trip to the farmers market.  It is fun place we enjoy taking the girls.  We spent Sunday outside once we got home from church...once Jason cleaned up the acorns.  I am not kidding there were millions!!!  Jumpy Squirrel will have plenty of food!   The garden is doing well.  Since Lu helped with the planting it is hard to say what anything is.  Still fun to watch her and teach her about it.  Miss Violet is now on the move more than I'd like.  She is now trying to master the stairs!!!  I can't keep her out of my sight.

Violet sits up!

last night I was able to sit Violet up and she played for awhile.  I was so proud of her...well that must have motivated her.  This morning while getting ready to pick up Lu from preschool she did it all on her own!  She was so happy...sorry for the lack of clothing but when these moments happen you just have to shoot!  Sad my baby is sitting up but happy for the next accomplishment to come.

Usually, no noise is not good around our home but I was happy to find Lu reading through some toy books.  She thinks her daddy can build anything...

Have a great weekend.  I am sure we will have lots to share next week!

Legos

I have to share this... it has been a windy day so the girls and I have stayed in.(I need to unpack/find coats!) Lu wanted to play with her legos and that becomes a sharing lesson with her little sis Vi.  She was so sweet but did worry that "Bilet may spill her milk"..that is what she says when Violet spits up.  We had fun and Violet was  able to control her milk!  It is so funny how something simple like playing can become more...maybe it's a girl thing!

PG/Marietta trip

Jason had a business trip to Texas that allowed the girls and I to travel to Pleasant Grove and visit.  The girls had a great time playing with their cousin Grace "gace".  It was great to see some old faces..My good friend Mark and his wife Allison, My aunt Di and uncle Fred, my aunt Gwen,my cousin Kelly and of course my parents and sister. We were able to take the girls to the park, a place I have so many memories with my sister and friends!  As a child it was so fun to visit.  My sister had lots of birthday parties there...and she invited anyone that was there, my parents never knew how many to plan for.  It has changed a lot but still fun.
My parents treated the girls to a build a bear day...Lu built "Flippy" the tiger and Vi has a Monkey named Bessie.  Of course Lu had influence on the names.  I don't know who enjoyed it more Lu or my parents.

I was able to enjoy the game with my dad.  The Tigers didn't come through as we hoped but it is always fun to watch a game with him. Sorry dad the victory soup didn't work this time!

Funny story...driving through Birmingham Lu asked "what's that?"  I wasn't sure at the time.  She answered herself by saying "ohh mama that's the city!"  I bet it looked so in her world.

On the way back through we were also able to stop by the Wilder's...it is fun to see the girls with their cousins and grandparents.

We had a great trip but glad to be back with Nesta and Rasta.

Busy weekend...

Hi!  We were busy this weekend.... A trip  to the local Farmers Market(Lu loves getting blueberries!),  playing in the park, playing at home, lunch, church, garden planting, refilling bird feeders, bird bath painting...I could go on!  I did manage to get a few pics.  I can't believe our sweet Vi turned 7 mos old over the weekend!  She is trying so hard to sit up on her own.  Big sis is always so helpful and "trying to make Biolet happy, mommy" when she falls.  As you can see Lu is modeling the latest in garden fashion and Violet is always smiling!  I think the ghost busters where in our yard, too!  Jason takes the weeds very serious!  haha  lots of love!

so I have to share some of our outdoor friends with you...We have all become bird watchers.  Rainy days seem to busy in our yard.  This morning we looked out the window and were amazed at all the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits.  (they drive Nesta crazy!)  It is really a fun activity we share with Lu and we are learning a lot too. Violet loves watching as well.  It makes rainy days a little easier.  Lu is always encouraging the birds "to take a bath and get something to eat!"

This week...

I think I am figuring this all out!
My first post took me a few days, I kept deleting it!  But now I have passed on the site to friends and family I hope to get quicker at it!

Lu started dance school and as we expected she LOVED it!  It is fun to watch her enjoy something new.  I'm sure there will be lots of dance stories to tell.

Violet is always smiling and happy to be along.  She keeps Rasta on the run but it doesn't help his waistline!

I am trying to figure the best way to keep friends and family updated on our life in Charlotte.  Hopefully, this may be the way...we'll try!?!

We are settling into our new home.  It is in a great location and a great backyard!  Lots of birds, squirrels, bugs and frogs to enjoy.

We have found a church and have felt very welcomed.  Jason has taken well with his new position.  Lu is now in preschool 3 days a week and dance one day a week.  Violet and I keep every one together and enjoy a little alone time.

We feel blessed to be where we are and enjoy Charlotte!
More to come!!!  lots of love!
