Common Hawk

I just had to share this with you!  I have been trying to get a picture of this hawk for over a year.  There was a nest in the school yard and so they have been very guarded.  The weekend my parents were here we watch it chase off a squirrel.  They are beautiful and so glad I finally got a picture to add to our collection!

We spent a great weekend with my parents during their visit.  It's always fun to have them here and so hard for them to go!   Jason was traveling for business so I enjoyed the extra helping hands!  Lots of fun in the backyard and picnics.  Lu wanted to take my parents to the Farmers Market Saturday...they loved it just as she knew they would!  ha  We are looking forward to going down next month!

This past weekend we went with our neighbors(the Kulps) to the  Greek Festival.  It was fun and the girls enjoyed the dancing and singing.  Of course we had some wonderful food!  Worth the trip up next fall if your interested!  Lu was so fascinated with the church and it is a beautiful place!  She wants to come back with our neighbor Ms Helen sometime.

Lu also finished up her second week of school.  She really loves it!  Big relief!  I love to hear her talk about her day and so thankful for her wonderful teachers.  Lu thinks they are so smart-she came home last week saying how important it is to eat growing food before desserts(told you the teachers were smart!)  Food has been a challenge in that she is in a peanut free room.  She really doesn't understand why she can't take a PB sandwich.  And she herself has acquired a few allergies-haha!  Seriously, she told me she can only eat PB for dinner a few nights because of her "allergies".  Where does she come up stuff?  Our new routine is taking some getting use to but I know we will get the swing of it!  

Poor Viley started a fever Wednesday- no fun for her!  She does have a "word/demand" she uses..."want that"  It is funny to hear her say that.  I have tried to add a please and she just laughs.  She loves dancing like Lu and has some good moves!  I am really looking forward to becoming her own.  

Our fall is quickly getting busy!  Jason will be traveling some and we will have lots of things to do!  So I guess this is a warning for lots of post to come!  Enjoy your weekend-we will my parents are coming!

Lu's first day of preschool...she was so excited to start and has enjoyed her first week.  Violet and I are enjoying some alone time but I know she misses Lu while she is away

PG trip...lots of fun!

The girls and I traveled back to PG with the help of parents.  We had a blast and as always they were great in car!  Here are just some of the many pics I got over the weekend.  Sorry they are out of order of the weekend but forgot while I was downloading. The weekend was full of fun...we visited my Uncle Bill and Aunt Denise on Friday and Martha's for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday.  Saturday a picnic at the park and Bessie's wedding.  The wedding was fun but I did miss Jason not being there.  Lucky I come from a big family so no one noticed!  (doesn't uncle Tom look like Billy Joel?)I was actually taking so many pics at the reception I was mistaken as the photographer-ha! We got to see lots of family and had a blast.
