Sunny Day!

The new sod...Lu did get to play on it while sliding!

I can't begin to tell you how beautiful yesterday was up here!  And of course Jason was at work so he didn't get to enjoy our time outside.  It seems to rain every weekend or the temperature is too cold to really enjoy being outside.  Hopefully, we have sunny and warmer days in store.  We recently had some sod put down to hopefully control a muddy spot in our yard.  I brought my camera and glad I did.  Violet decided she wanted to try a few steps...yes on the pavement!  She was able to take a few before she gracefully went back to her knees.  The girls enjoyed playing the sand and even Rasta and Nesta enjoyed themselves.  Hope you enjoy the pics!

This story it too funny not to share...

Okay so Friday night we were sitting down for dinner and this was the conversation

Lu- "what is rock-o bomb-o"

Katy- "who?"

Jason-" I think she means Barack Obama"

Lu- "yeah that!"

Katy-" he is the president, who told you about him?"

Lu-"Gan"

So I call my mom to ask her what she has shared with Lu about the President.  She tells me nothing...

moving on to TV time....

Lu likes to watch Dora and Diego before bed usually.  So between the shows we see a clip about Obama.   Lu got excited and said there he is!  She says he makes presents, cooks soup and plays games.  Pretty cute for a three year old!  

We have to be careful with Lu and never know what she is going to say.  And obviously Gan has a big influence over her! haha

Doctor visits...

Violet went in yesterday for her one year check...plus four shots.  I always hate the "well" visits but know they are necessary.  

Her growth-height 29.5 inches,-weight 18.12 lb, -head 17 5/8 

Still not ready to turn around!  But I am hopeful in a month or so we will be there with the help of whole milk being added to her diet.  Dr. Williams seems to be pleased with her growth from our last visit.  Viley really put on a show for her!  I know I listed her new "things" but here is one that is really new to me...Toilet paper.  There isn't a roll safe in the house!  

Earlier this week, we took Lu back to the ENT and Dr. Blummer wants to proceed with taking her tonsils and adenoids out.  So we are scheduled for that March 11th, please keep her in your prayers.  I know she will be better but as a momma I don't like the thought~ 

Violet turns 1!!!

It is really amazing how fast a year goes by!  My angel Violet turned one on Saturday.  She so sweet and I just love watching her learn and grow!  Smiley Viley or "bilet" as Lu calls her has just added so much to our family.  I am so thankful for her. 

 She is on the move, ALWAYS!!  She has learned to clap, wave, blow kisses recently.  She is so different than Lu in many ways and 

I know as she grows we will continue to learn more about her personality.  

Saturday we celebrated her 1st birthday with a few of our new friends and my parents.  

It was a simple cake and ice cream but as you can tell it was fun!

So it is hard to believe my angel Violet is turning one Saturday!  Lu has been so fun planning and helping get things ready for our "party".  I guess  she is catching on to the fun of parties now.  I know I will have tons of pictures to post with the cake but going through some old photos I have to say this is one of my favorites.  This is my dad (pod) with Violet just a few hours old.  My dad has always been good with babies but there is something special between he and Vi.   I love every minute of all the challenges and changes.  And believe me "bilet" keeps me busy!  look for more pics this weekend...

back to Georgia!

We had a short visit back to GA last week...we never have enough time!  While we were there we were able to visit a few friends in addition to Jason's family.

We woke up to an inch of snow this morning...closing schools!  It was pretty but it was gone before we could get out and enjoy.  We did enjoy lots of birds eating this morning.  I know it has been awhile since I have taken pictures of our friends.  With the winter months we have had an abundance....mainly because of our bird feeders.  This spring we have some work to do.  The squirrels have taken over so I have moved a lot of feeders to keep them from eating all the food.  Below the girls pics there is a Northern Flicker. He is new to us... a beauty, huh?
